I use it for frying of course but it's great for baking in also! I bought it because some recipes I find on YouTube show them using cast iron in the oven and I wanted to be able to do that! You can't just use a wok in the oven ! I like the removable cool handle grip and the matching glass lid that comes with it! I thought the price was very reasonable also ! Comes with a guide for easy cleaning ! It's a hand it down piece of cookware that will last many lifetimes I'm sure ! No regrets here ! Thanks Amazon !
This cast iron skillet is very good quality and you can tell by the weight and texture. Comes with a lid which is the beat part yet and it has a silicone handle. Also comes with a silicon handle cover for when very hot.
I bought this to mainly use at home but we took this pan on a camping trip because we couldn't find our other one. However, figured might as well test this on our camping trip. Not only did it work great on an open fire but we were able to practically cook all of our meals on this pan. This did come pre-seasoned and ready to use. The lid we mainly use at home but has been really helpful when it comes to really cooking or frying anything. Not only does it help keep the heat inside but it prevents oil and grease from popping out. The silicone gripper helps protect from the heat but when used on an open flame, I didn't use it. No matter what we cook or fry on this pan, it not only doesn't stick but we get an even cooking meal. This pan can definitely get hot so that silicone cover does help. However, when it came to our camping trip I just used my silicone glove that I use for barbecuing. What I was really impressed with is that I was able to cook eggs on this pan and not have the eggs stick, which is what our old one does. Easy to wipe clean and be ready to use again. More recently, we used this to bake cornbread in and not only did it come out delicious be we were able to cut and keep in the pan while eating. Nothing stuck to the bottom either. When it comes to cleaning this and re-seasoning it, we just do what we always have done and it's ready to use again. Stores easily away and love that we can use this at home and for camping.
I got this as a house warming gift. It is a sturdy cast iron skillet. It is quiet heavy. I really like that this one comes with a lid. The lid is glass with a handle on top. It also comes with a pot holder that fits on the handle. It comes in a nice box and is wrapped well. This makes it perfect for gifting.

Nice cast iron pan - feels very solid. This comes partially pre-seasoned, so you’ll want to season it yourself. Fortunately, that’s really easy!Seasoning is as simple as getting some oil (I like extra virgin olive oil) and spreading a small amount in the pan, using a paper towel. Get the whole of the pan - the space where you cook but also the sides and bottom and handle. Bake in the over at 400-450° and let cool naturally. I do this every few weeks and cast iron is basically non-stick. This makes it very easy to clean and incredibly versatile.
It's nice having a bigger cast iron skillet with a lid. Just used it yesterday and it cooks great 😁👌
